China Civil Aviation Science & Technology Innovation Demonstration Zone
TYLin provided planning and design services for the China Civil Aviation Science & Technology Innovation Demonstration Zone in Chengdu, the capital of China’s Sichuan Province.
The high-tech development is located in the central business district (CBD) of Tianfu International Airport City, a comprehensive model for sustainable urban growth.
The China Civil Aviation Science & Technology Innovation Demonstration Zone is the first of its kind in China. A joint effort of the Civil Aviation Administration of China and the Sichuan provincial government, the project covers an area of 3.8 hectares (9.4 acres) and a construction area of close to 240,000 square meters.
The goal is to build a world-class, international platform for innovation in civil aviation, science, and technology, including research and development, laboratory, and engineering technology application testing facilities.
Since the start of the project, TYLin has provided the full range of engineering consultation services, including project planning, project feasibility study, urban design, architectural design, and landscape design.
Construction of the demonstration zone is being implemented in two phases. Phase 1, which is led by the Second Research Institute of Civil Aviation Administration of China, has a total investment of CNY 10.63 billion (USD 1.67 billion). An area of 1721 mu (115 hectares or 282 acres) will be constructed.
Completion of Phase 1 will significantly advance the basis for civil aviation and science and technology research in China. In turn, this will drive the collaboration and innovation needed to form a civil aviation and high-tech industrial cluster.
