Churchill Business Community
The Churchill Business Community in the City of Brampton involves the development and expansion of existing agricultural lands for industrial uses.
TYLin is providing civil engineering services for the 130ha industrial community, which includes the completion of an Environmental Implementation Report for the overall development.
The project involves the realignment of Mullet Creek and the development of three new stormwater management ponds, a bioretention facility, and eight industrial buildings ranging in size from 150,000 square feet to 1,550,000 square feet.
Works include overall subdivision site grading to control and direct stormwater runoff to the proposed ponds and channel, as well as individual site plan grading and servicing for each individual site. Works within the municipal right-of-way include entrance design and road widening.
The project includes both traditional and Low Impact Development (LID) stormwater management facilities. Design considerations for the bioretention facilities include soil type, groundwater levels, filter media requirements, and the depth of ponding above the filter media.
This project involves significant coordination with the City of Brampton, Peel Region, and MTO for the subdivision and site plan approvals, permits, and construction.
