Garden State Parkway Interchange 109 Improvements
TYLin Leads Traffic Engineering Innovations for Garden State Parkway's Interchange 109 Upgrade, Ensuring Optimal Safety and Efficiency
TYLin spearheaded all traffic engineering endeavors for the conceptualization, preliminary, and final design phases of enhancements to Garden State Parkway's Interchange 109. Their contributions encompassed comprehensive data collection, traffic and safety analyses, as well as origin/destination studies and traffic simulation for both interchange ramps and the adjacent Newman Springs Road arterial. Our team formulated and assessed multiple alternatives, incorporating variations in lane geometry, signal timing, and phasing, alongside modifications to bus operations and routing, all evaluated based on various criteria including level of service, safety, and travel times.
Utilizing Synchro/SimTraffic, we conducted intricate analyses of signalized and unsignalized intersections, ensuring seamless traffic flow during different construction phases. Furthermore, our team devised signal timing and phasing for new intersections and orchestrated a fully coordinated corridor timing plan. Their engagement extended to facilitating meetings with key stakeholders such as Monmouth County, Brookdale Community College, and Academy Bus, in addition to conducting a public information center to ensure comprehensive community involvement.
