Kaohsiung Mass Rapid Transit, Gangshan-Lujhu Extension
TYLin is providing detailed design services for Phase II of the Kaohsiung Mass Rapid Transit Ganshan-Lujhu Extension project in Taiwan.
The Kaohsiung Mass Rapid Transit (KMRT) system has been operating in Taiwan since 2008 and has a total length of close to 58 kilometers and 38 stations. Located in the economic center of southern Taiwan, the system provides users with a faster, more convenient, and safer way to meet their daily commuting and transportation needs.
When Kaohsiung Government Authorities began considering the extension of the KMRT Red Line service area, their plans included the Gangshan-Lujhu extension for the city’s Gangshan, Lujhu, and Hunei Districts. TYLin and Far Eastern Construction Company (FECC) won Phase II (Lot RKC02) of the Ganshan-Lujhu Extension Project.
The goal of this MRT extension is to stimulate economic growth while meeting future population and traffic demands. The project includes seven elevated stations and close to 12 kilometers of viaducts, as well as track, engineering and maintenance (E&M), and elevator/escalator works.
