National Freeway No. 1, Yangmei to Toufen

National Freeway No. 1 is the most important arterial road in Taiwan, connecting to significant transportation hubs, industrial areas, and regional political and economic centers. The freeway carries a heavy traffic load of more than 250,000 vehicles per day in both directions. 

Since the 1980s, TYLin’s team in Taiwan has completed the Xizhi to Wugu and Wugu to Yangmei widening projects, representing 60 kilometers of freeway construction and improvements. The Yangmei-Toufen widening project is close to 40 kilometers long. The project includes embankments and various viaduct types, as well as an underground passageway due to nearby military bases.
