The Point of the Mountain Framework Plan
The Point of the Mountain (“The Point”), a 600-acre, state-owned property located less than 20 miles south of Salt Lake City, is poised to become one of the most significant economic development opportunities in Utah history.
As part of the Skidmore, Owings & Merrill team, TYLin supported the creation of a detailed Framework Plan for the site to guide its physical layout, design, and development over the coming years. TYLin led the development of an innovative mobility strategy for the site, detailing a comprehensive network of trails, sidewalks, bike infrastructure, and micromobility facilities along with street design guidelines that prioritize people walking and biking and embed flexibility as behavior and technology evolve.
TYLin also developed concepts for an autonomous circulator to complement existing and future high-capacity transit and identified sites and designed prototypes for a system of mobility hubs to integrate the many transportation options that will be available at The Point.
