Saint-Martin-de-la-Porte 3 Transalpine Lyon-Torino Railway Line
As part of the Transalpine Lyon-Torino Railway Line project, TYLin provided technical consultancy for an exploratory tunnel in Saint-Martin-de-la-Porte, France.
The Transalpine Lyon-Torino Railway Line project is a significant infrastructure effort to connect France and Italy under the Alps and improve railway transport in this area. The 8.8-kilometer exploratory tunnel in Saint-Martin-de-la-Porte was created to connect with the southern stretch of the 57-kilometer-long main basis tunnel. The exploratory tunnel was bored by a Single Shield Hard-Rock Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) of 10.94 meters of excavation diameter under 1,080 meters of ground overburden.
TYLin provided technical consultancy to the Project Manager in the excavation of the exploratory tunnel by TBM, including defining the TBM technical specifications, reviewing the segmental lining design and improvement measures, and providing the methodology of annular vacuum filling.
