Highway 417 Industrial Park, Water and Wastewater Infrastructure

TYLin is providing engineering services for the design of water and wastewater infrastructure to service the Highway 417 - Vars Industrial Park in Russell, Ontario, Canada.
The project includes the design of an above-ground reservoir and booster pumping station with approximately 2,000-cubic-metre capacity. Also included are a standby emergency generator for a new water distribution system and a sanitary pumping station at 160 L/s to service existing and future businesses in the Township of Russell.
TYLin is also designing approximately 9.5 kilometres of new watermain (300-milimeter PVC), 8.5 kilometres of single forcemain (350-milimetre HDPE), and 7.5 kilometres of gravity trunk sewers (450-milimetre PVC).
Project Highlights:
- The reservoir will include a rechloramination system since the source water travels an extensive distance from the City of Ottawa.
- As part of the new development, water and wastewater services for Highway 417 Industrial Park will be upgraded from private wells and septic tanks.
- The project was completed by The Municipal Infrastructure Group Ltd (TMIG), now doing business as TYLin.
