Matthew G. Cummings, P.E., T.Y. Lin International Group President and CEO, Honored with 2021 Distinguished Award of Merit from American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania

T.Y. Lin International Group (TYLI Group), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that Matthew (Matt) G. Cummings, P.E., TYLI Group President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), has been honored with the 2021 Distinguished Award of Merit from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania (ACEC/PA).

The Distinguished Award of Merit recognizes an individual in the engineering profession who has made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of the consulting engineering profession and service to ACEC/PA. The award is given to an individual who has served on ACEC/PA committees, been an outstanding consulting engineer, and served their community and colleagues throughout their career. A past President of ACEC/PA, Cummings accepted the award at the organization’s virtual Diamond Awards for Engineering Excellence event on January 28, 2021.

Cummings has over 30 years of comprehensive experience in operational leadership and project management in the engineering field. In 2019, he was named President and CEO of TYLI Group, where he oversees the strategic direction and market growth of TYLI and its affiliate firms. Cummings also serves as CEO of the Global Infrastructure pillar of Dar Group, the parent company of TYLI Group. In that role, he has direct responsibility for leveraging and uniting the technological expertise of TYLI Group and its affiliate companies to form an expanded, global presence. Before joining TYLI Group, he led a $2 billion transportation infrastructure business at a global engineering and construction firm.

In addition to his professional roles, Cummings has also served in important industry leadership positions, including as past Chairman of the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA). In 2019, he received the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) John I. Parcel-Leif J. Sverdrup Civil Engineering Management Award, which honors an ASCE member who has made a definitive contribution in the field of civil engineering management, evidenced by high character and professional integrity and regional or national professional reputation.
