T.Y. Lin International Announces Howard R. Cake, P.E., as Albuquerque, New Mexico, Branch Manager

T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that Howard R. Cake, P.E., has been hired as Albuquerque Branch Manager for TYLI’s New Mexico market. In his role, Cake will oversee technical and administrative staff, and serve as a Senior Project Manager on a variety of public and privately funded civil engineering design projects. He will also work closely with local and regional engineering and marketing staff to secure new planning and design projects.

With close to 20 years of experience in project management and infrastructure design in the Albuquerque market, Cake joins TYLI after serving as Engineering Manager for Bernalillo County Public Works. His responsibilities for the County included coordinating and directing project engineers and managers in the negotiation, planning, scoping, scheduling, design, and construction of multimillion-dollar, multi-phase projects. He also served as Director of Transportation and Director of Land Development for a private consulting engineering firm, where he oversaw civil engineering projects and project management teams, and led local business development efforts.

“Howard has demonstrated a keen ability to manage complex projects and develop and inspire engineering staff. He excels at creating and maintaining an environment where innovation is fostered, benefitting our clients and the project teams he leads. We are very pleased to have him join the T.Y. Lin International family,” said James Barr, P.E., TYLI’s Arizona/New Mexico Unit Manager.

Cake earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He is a registered Professional Engineer in New Mexico and has received certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.
