Pollak will lead and support strategic business development efforts and operations for the firm’s Rail + Transit sector in the New York/New Jersey area – the largest transit market in the United States. TYLin clients will benefit from Pollak’s dedication to safety, innovation, and reliability.

Pollak’s 30 years of experience includes 20 years with one of the country’s largest utility companies and 13 years with one of the largest transit agencies in the Northeast. Respected as an innovative leader with a steadfast commitment to safety and excellence, Pollak is a strong communicator and problem solver with expertise in achieving maximum results in fast-paced environments.

Most recently, he served as Chief Engineer for New Jersey Transit where he provided general oversight of 200 employees, consultants, and engineering firms. He managed an annual budget of $5 million, with support to capital projects totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. In addition to designing inventive solutions, Pollak was instrumental in enhancing safety standards and training, and implementing improvements that reduced outages.

“We are very excited to have Bill join the TYLin team as our Director of Rail Power Systems,” said Joseph Yesbeck, P.E., TYLin Senior Vice President and National Director of Rail and Transit. “Bill’s vast knowledge of electrical operations and his relationships with various transit agencies makes him an excellent fit as we work to increase our presence with our clients in the Northeast.”

Committed to his profession, Pollak serves as a committee member for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the National Electrical Safety Code. He is a former Vice Chair of AREMA’s (American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way) Technical Committee 33 – Electric Energy Utilization.
