I-10/Jefferson Street Interchange
TYLin performed Construction Management and Inspection services for the I-10/Jefferson Street Interchange in the City of Indio, California.
The I-10/Jefferson Street Interchange project was the last and largest of six interchanges to be constructed along the I-10 Coachella Valley Corridor. The project replaced a modified diamond configuration that was constructed in 1958, and had geometric deficiencies and operational limitations.
The project included constructing a 445-foot-long, 155-foot-wide, eight-lane bridge over I-10, removing two existing bridges, and constructing of new eastbound and westbound on- and off-ramps. Auxiliary lanes were added on I-10, as well as a 50-foot-tall MSE retaining wall and Type 1 retaining walls.
TYLin oversaw extensive coordination with multiple public agencies, including the Riverside County Transportation Department (RCTD), Cities of Indio and La Quinta, California Department of Transportation, and utility companies.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:
- The project required extensive traffic control and playing a key role in public outreach programs.
