T.Y. Lin International Celebrates Opening of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge New East Span
T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge New East Span (East Span) opened to traffic on September 2, 2013. TYLI, in a joint venture with Moffatt & Nichol, served as Engineer of Record on the immense bridge replacement project, working closely with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), the State’s Metropolitan Transportation Commission, and the California Transportation Commission. The East Span represents the largest public works project in California history.
T.Y. Lin International China Wins 11th Annual Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize for Jiayue Jialing River Bridge
T. Y. Lin International Group (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that its China operations have been awarded the 11th Annual Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize for the firm’s design of the Jiayue Jialing River Bridge in Chongqing, China. The award is the highest honor bestowed in China for technological innovation in design and construction engineering. TYLI China accepted the prestigious award from the China Civil Engineering Society (CCES) at a July 8th award ceremony in Beijing.

T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, has received a 1st Place Award at the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) 2013 National Marketing Communications Awards for The Bridge at Hoover Dam (2011, Nazraeli Press), the firm’s fine art book on the design, engineering and construction of the Hoover Dam Bypass/Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge. The SMPS National Marketing Communications Awards Program is the longest-standing awards competition that recognizes excellence in marketing communications by professional services firms in the design and building industry. TYLI received the 1st Place Award for the Book/Monograph category at the SMPS Awards Gala on August 2, 2013 in Orlando, FL.
Monroe County’s Civic Center Plaza Rehabilitation Wins State and Local Project of the Year Awards
The Monroe County Civic Center Plaza Rehabilitation Project continues its winning streak and has been recognized as the 2012 Project of the Year Structures by the New York State Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA). The Civic Center was previously named 2012 Project of the Year by the Genesee Valley Chapter of the APWA. T.Y. Lin International (TYLI) led the six-member design team and Crane-Hogan Structural Systems, Inc. spearheaded the work of four construction firms.
Erie-Lackawanna Pedestrian Bridge Named Project of the Year by Association for Bridge Construction and Design
The Western New York Chapter of the Association for Bridge Construction and Design has recognized the Erie-Lackawanna Pedestrian Bridge as the 2012 Project of the Year for bridges under $2M. T.Y. Lin International (TYLI) completed the Erie-Lackawanna Rails-to-Trails Pedestrian Bridge conversion project – a project that had been a vision for nearly 25 years before becoming a reality – for the City of Rochester.
