Eric Froberg, P.E., New Mexico Operations Manager for T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), has been selected to appear among ENR Southwest’s 2013 Top 20 Under 40, a prestigious list of key design and construction industry individuals working in Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada. Eric was chosen as one of the “outstanding examples of leadership, drive and teamwork” by a panel of industry judges, who were charged with assessing nominees’ professional experience as well as their contributions to the community.

Eric joined TYLI in 2010 when the company decided to venture into Albuquerque, New Mexico. While several exceptional candidates were considered for the new Branch Manager position, Eric impressed his future supervisor, Dan Heller, TYLI Vice President, with his high energy and enthusiasm for TYLI’s culture of “One Vision, One Company” and his substantial professional credentials. One of TYLI’s youngest operations managers, Eric’s contribution to the market has proven that he deserves his spot on ENR Southwest’s Top 20 Under 40 list.

Since the office opened two years ago, Eric has been responsible for all aspects of the TYLI startup, including new business development, business planning, marketing, QA/QC management, and training for entry level engineers and designers. The result: Eric has surpassed $1.5 million in sales while expanding TYLI’s services, including roadway design, bridge design and load ratings, drainage, planning, and a number of studies. His efforts have in turn increased employment opportunities for local engineers and technicians. Eric was nominated for selection as an ACEC State Director in both 2011 and 2012, underscoring that his efforts and achievements are recognized by his peers in Albuquerque’s engineering community.

Eric has also demonstrated that he is a standout in the areas of industry and community service. Using his thorough understanding of contracts, engineering and government policy, he has provided recommendations on the QBS/RFP process to small communities. He is a LEED-AP, and currently assisting the City of Albuquerque in exploring options for the electronic submittal of Record Drawings in order to reduce printing costs and waste. For the past two years, he has served on the fundraising team to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. As the father of three young children, Eric also volunteers with youth organizations, which has included coaching his oldest son’s flag football team to their 2012 championship.
