T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that Ali Toghiani, P.E., has joined the firm as Surface Transportation Business Development Manager for Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties in the South Region. Based in the firm’s Miami office, Ali will provide leadership in business development activities and will also participate in the management of significant projects.
Ali joins TYLI following a successful 34-year career with the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) District Six, which covers Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties in South Florida. He began his FDOT career in 1981 as a Bridge Inspection Engineer, progressing to the position of Assistant District Consultant Management Engineer, serving in that role from 1992 until his recent retirement. Ali was responsible for overseeing and managing a staff of highly skilled professional engineers acting as project managers for FDOT and consultant firms delivering over 1,200 transportation projects totaling over $10 billion.
He managed complex projects within District Six from inception to design and construction such as the SR 826/836 interchange, the I-395 mid-town interchange, the addition of managed lanes to I-95, the Golden Glade interchange improvement project, and the Okeechobee Boulevard reconstruction from Palmetto to Le Jejune Road, which included an open tunnel. “Ali brings to TYLI a wealth of experience overseeing some of South Florida’s most significant transportation projects,” said James Moreno, P.E., TYLI Senior Vice President and South Region Director. “We are pleased to have Ali as part of our South Region team, not only for his engineering expertise but also for the strong relationships he has formed with South Florida city and county governments, permitting agencies, and other industry professionals.”
