T.Y. Lin International Hires Intissar Durham, P.E., as Aviation Group Leader for Southwest District
T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that Intissar Durham, P.E., has joined the firm as the new Group Leader, Aviation – Southwest District. Durham is an experienced senior leader and Project Manager with extensive experience in strategic planning, engineering, construction, and environmental services, primarily in the Aviation field. She will work closely with TYLI’s Regional and Aviation Line of Business teams to develop and expand new business opportunities and maintain and extend existing business relationships for the Southwest District. Durham will also serve as Project Manager or other key team member on Aviation airside and/or landside projects.
Durham comes to TYLI with over 30 years of experience in the transportation industry, specializing on major Aviation initiatives since 1988. She previously served as Chief Airports Engineer, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) in California. In that role, she managed, authorized, and oversaw all design and construction services carried out by her 150-person in-house staff, as well as outside design, management consulting, and construction teams.
Durham’s projects for LAWA have included the $1.5 billion Bradley West Project at the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT), comprising existing TBIT Renovation and T4 Connector, the new north/south taxiway connecting Taxiway T, and TBIT’s new Central Utility Plant; Runway Safety Area Improvements at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), LA/Ontario Airport, and Van Nuys Airport; and new West Aircraft Maintenance Area Improvements, also at LAX.

A registered Professional Engineer in California, Durham received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from California State University, Los Angeles, a Masters in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, and completed the Airport Management Program at the University of California, Berkeley. She is the past Director-at-Large of the Women Transportation Seminar, and a member of the Association of Airport Executives, the Transportation Research Board, and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
