T.Y. Lin International Welcomes Yongtao Dong, Ph.D., P.E., as Senior Structural Engineer for Albuquerque, New Mexico, Office
T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that Yongtao Dong, Ph.D., P.E., has joined TYLI’s office in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as a Senior Structural Engineer. Dong will perform structural design and analysis for bridges and other structures for the Albuquerque market. He will also support other offices within the firm’s Southwest District and Western Region.
Dong comes to TYLI with six years of experience in the industry, including serving as a Bridge Engineer for the New Mexico Department of Transportation in Santa Fe and a Transportation Engineer for the Texas Department of Transportation in Austin. In those roles, his responsibilities included designing and analyzing highly advanced, complex bridge projects, both for new construction and bridge rehabilitation.
Dong also has 14 years of teaching experience in the United States and China, where he has lectured and researched on civil, structural, and environmental engineering subjects such as the design of steel and concrete structures and bridge structural health monitoring and deterioration detection. His most recent academic positions include serving as an Assistant Professor for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro.

Dong earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Zhengzhou Institute of Technology in Zhengzhou, China, a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from the Harbin University of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Harbin, China, and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois in Chicago. He is a registered Professional Engineer in New Mexico, Texas, and Ohio.
