T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that two TYLI projects have won awards in the American Council of Engineering Companies New York (ACEC NY) 2019 Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA) competition. The Construction Management for the Rehabilitation of the Cranberry and Joralemon Tubes project in New York, New York, was selected for a Platinum Award in the category of Special Projects. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) SHRP2 C11 Reliability Tool Testing Technical Assistance project in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, won a Silver Award in the category of Studies, Research and Consulting Engineering Services. Entries to the ACEC NY EEA program are judged using a rigorous set of criteria, which includes complexity, innovation, and value to society. The awards will be presented at an ACEC NY black-tie gala on Saturday, April 13, 2019, in the Ballroom of the Hilton Midtown in New York City.

The ACEC NY EEA Awards recognize projects for complexity, innovation, and value to society. A panel of industry experts judged entries from more than 60 firms. The Diamond Award is the top honor in each category. The awards will be presented at a black-tie gala on Saturday, April 13, 2019, in the Ballroom of the Hilton Midtown in New York City. As Diamond Award winners designed and built entirely in New York State, both projects are candidates for the Empire Award, which goes to the top-rated project across all 12 categories. This award will be announced during the gala.
Hyperloop Transportation Technologies Announces Partners and Construction Start for Commercial System in Abu Dhabi
Hyperloop Transportation Technologies in Playa Vista, California, USA, announced that it will develop the first commercial Hyperloop system with Aldar Properties in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Global design and engineering firm Dar Al-Handasah (Dar) has been selected as Lead Design Consultant for the new 10-kilometer route and related facilities. The Dar Team includes Perkins+Will (architects, USA); T.Y. Lin International (engineers, USA); GPO Group (engineers, Spain); and Currie & Brown (cost management consultants, UK), all members of the Dar Group. Construction is targeted to begin in the third quarter of 2019.
