T.Y. Lin International to Provide Construction Management and Engineering Services for Sixth Street Viaduct Replacement Project in Los Angeles, California
T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works has awarded a contract to TYLI to provide construction management and engineering services for the development of the Sixth Street Viaduct Replacement Project. The new signature viaduct bridge will replace the existing Sixth Street Viaduct, which was constructed in 1936, and connect the City’s Arts District on the west side of the Los Angeles River and the historic neighborhood of Boyle Heights on the east side.
T.Y. Lin International Wins California High-Speed Rail Environmental/Engineering Services Contract for Bakersfield to Palmdale Section

Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that the California High-Speed Rail Authority has awarded TYLI a five-year, $46.1 million environmental/engineering services contract for the Bakersfield to Palmdale Section of California’s high-speed passenger rail system. Under the provisions of the contract, TYLI will be responsible for such services as project management; public participation support; project definition; preliminary engineering; environmental impact analysis; draft and final project-level environmental impact reports and environmental impact studies, including certification and programmatic permitting; plans and specifications for construction procurement; and coordination with key stakeholders and local agencies.
T.Y. Lin International Collaborates with Ohio Universities to Develop New Instrumentation Program for Measuring Bridge Pier Displacement
T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that TYLI, as part of the construction engineering and inspection (CEI) team with Omnipro Services, LLC, and in collaboration with the State of Ohio’s University of Cincinnati, Ohio University and University of Toledo, as well as the bridge’s designer-of-record HNTB Corporation, has developed a construction monitoring instrumentation program for the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Jeremiah Morrow Replacement Bridges project. The findings for the new program, which measures the displacement of bridge piers, were presented by TYLI, university researchers, and construction engineers at the Transportation Research Board’s (TRB) 93rd Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. this past January. The findings will be published in TRB’s Transportation Research Record (TRR).
Portland’s Sellwood Bridge Detour Completed
After 87 years in its current location spanning the Willamette River just south of downtown Portland, Oregon, the Sellwood Bridge was moved to the north so construction on the new replacement bridge can begin. With a bridge closure lasting only six days, the bridge was slid from its former permanent concrete supports to temporary steel piers. The old Sellwood bridge will be used as a detour facility for traffic, cyclists and pedestrians for the next 2.5 years while the replacement bridge is built.
