Marwan Nader, Ph.D., P.E., Awarded 2016 Senior Prize from the International Association for Bridge Maintenance and Safety

This award is presented biennially to a bridge engineer over the age of 46 who has demonstrated distinguished achievement in the areas of Bridge Maintenance, Safety, Management, Assessment, and Life-Cycle Cost. Nader accepted the 2016 Senior Prize “in recognition of significant contributions to bridge engineering” at the Gala Dinner of the IABMAS 8th International Conference on Bridge Maintenance, Safety and Management on June 29, 2016 in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná, Brazil
T.Y. Lin International Wins 2016 APWA Project of the Year Awards for San Diego Bikeway Improvements
T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized, full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that the Sweetwater Bikeway, Plaza Bonita Segment, and Bayshore Bikeway Segment 4 have both received 2016 Project of the Year Awards from the American Public Works Association, San Diego/Imperial Chapter (APWA-SD). TYLI served as Prime Consultant to the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) for planning and design on both projects, which are part of the firm’s $25M on-call contract with the regional planning agency. TYLI joined SANDAG in accepting the 2016 Project of the Year Awards at the APWA-SD Awards Luncheon on May 9, 2016.

Eller Drive and Intermodal Container Transfer Facility Overpass Wins 2016 Outstanding Major Project Award from FICE
T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that the Eller Drive and Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF) Overpass project has received the 2016 Outstanding Major Project Award from the Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers (FICE). Working closely with the project owner, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), TYLI served as the Prime Consultant for the design phase of the project. The Eller Drive and ICTF Overpass project provides a direct connection from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to Port Everglades, and includes a bridge overpass over the Florida East Coast Railway that allows the railroad to function without impacting vehicular traffic moving into and out of the port. TYLI joined FDOT in accepting the Outstanding Major Project Award at the 2016 FICE Transportation Conference on May 12, 2016.
Brookfield Floating Bridge Wins 2016 International Bridge Conference Arthur G. Hayden Medal

Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that the Brookfield Floating Bridge in Brookfield, Vermont, has received the prestigious 2016 International Bridge Conference (IBC) Arthur G. Hayden Medal. The Arthur G. Hayden Medal recognizes a single recent outstanding achievement in bridge engineering, demonstrating vision and innovation in special use bridges. TYLI served as Prime Design Consultant on the project, which transformed an aging floating timber structure across Sunset Lake into a state-of-the-art fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) pontoon system with a life expectancy of 100 years. The firm joined its project partners in accepting the award at the IBC Awards Ceremony on June 9, 2016 in National Harbor, Maryland.
