David Goodyear, P.E., S.E., Elected to National Academy of Engineering
David Goodyear, P.E., S.E., T.Y. Lin International Senior Vice President and Chief Bridge Engineer, was recently elected to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE). Election to the NAE is considered among the highest and most exclusive professional distinctions that can be awarded an engineer in the United States. Goodyear, who is one of only 69 new American members elected from a highly-competitive field of over 500 nominations, was cited “for leadership in concrete segmental, cable-stayed, and hybrid bridge design and construction." His induction into the Academy will take place October 6-7, 2013 at the 2013 NAE Annual Meeting at the National Academy of Sciences Building in Washington, DC.

The Monroe County Civic Center Plaza Rehabilitation Project in Rochester, New York, has been recognized as 2012 Project of the Year by the Genesee Valley Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA). Hoover Dam Bypass Wins International Road Federation Global Road Achievement Award
T.Y.Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announced today that the Hoover Dam Bypass project was named the winner of the International Road Federation (IRF) 2012 Global Road Achievement Award (GRAA) for Design. TYLI engineers led the design of the landmark Colorado River span, which is the centerpiece of the overall highway bypass project. The prestigious design award recognizes “outstanding achievements in the broad design arena, including aesthetics, applications in challenging environments, cost efficiency and originality.”

Lin International (TYLI), has been selected to appear among ENR Southwest’s 2013 Top 20 Under 40, a prestigious list of key design and construction industry individuals working in Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada.
