San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge Featured in The New York Times

The New York Times recently published a story titled, “A Bridge Built to Sway When the Earth Shakes,” which featured T.Y. Lin International (TYLI) as the lead designer for the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. New York Times science reporter, Henry Fountain sat down with TYLI vice president Marwan Nader, PhD, to discuss the seismic innovations of the unique structure.

Former Erie County DPW Commissioner Gerard J. Sentz, P.E., Joins T.Y. Lin International

T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces former Erie County Department of Public Works Commissioner Gerard J. Sentz, P.E., has joined the firm’s Buffalo, New York office as Associate Vice President/Unit Manager. Sentz has nearly 30 years of engineering experience including 11 years working for Erie County and 18 years in consulting engineering. In his new position, Sentz will lead the expansion of T.Y. Lin International’s staff and services in the greater Buffalo area.

Ralston Avenue Bikeway Overcrossing (Children’s Bridge) in Belmont, California Opens

T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm has completed the Ralston Avenue Bikeway Overcrossing, a pedestrian and bicycle bridge, in Belmont, California. The $7.3 million dollar project features a Class I, at-grade bikeway along the north side of Ralston Avenue, as well as an overcrossing bridge across Route 101.

Dedicated by the City of Belmont as the “Children’s Bridge,” the project links the residential neighborhoods located west of Route 101 with the Belmont Sports Complex, located east of Route 101.

Sellwood Bridge Replacement Breaks Ground in Portland, Oregon

Multnomah County, Oregon’s Sellwood Bridge Replacement project (Sellwood Bridge) broke ground on Friday, December 16, 2011 in a ceremony attended by U.S. and Oregon Department of Transportation officials, State of Oregon, Multnomah County, City of Portland and TriMet representatives, interested citizens, and design team members.
