Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge/Hoover Dam Bypass Wins 2011 Be Inspired Award
Bentley Systems honored the Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge/Hoover Dam Bypass project with the 2011 Be Inspired Award in the “Innovation in Bridges” category. The Be Inspired Awards recognize outstanding achievement and innovation in the design, construction, and operations of infrastructure projects around the world. The project team which included HDR, T.Y. Lin International, and Jacobs Engineering, was presented with the award at the Be Inspired Thought Leadership Conference that was held on November 8-9 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Veronica Fennie Joins T.Y. Lin International as Chief Accounting Officer and Associate Vice President
T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announced today that Veronica Fennie has been named Chief Accounting Officer, Associate Vice President. Fennie will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions for the firm.
Mike O’Callaghan - Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge Wins NCSEA 2011 Excellence in Structural Engineering Award
The Hoover Dam Bypass/Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge was named the Outstanding Project by the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA) for best overall engineering achievement in the New Bridge and Transportation Structures category. The NCSEA Excellence in Structural Engineering Awards recognize creative achievement and highlight some of the best examples of structural ingenuity throughout the world.
Harbor Drive Pedestrian Bridge Wins ENR California’s Best Projects 2011 Award
Engineering News-Record (ENR) California recently announced the winners for its Best Projects 2011 Awards. Among the recipients was T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), which received the Best Transportation Project Award for the Harbor Drive Pedestrian Bridge in San Diego, CA.
The annual Best of Awards is a competition which recognizes and honors the most outstanding construction projects as well as the companies that design them. Projects built anywhere in the U.S. are eligible to enter and compete in one of 18 categories, which range from civil engineering to green building. The number of entries for this year’s ENR California competition was 116, of which only 34 projects received awards.
Chinese Institute of Engineers Hosts Transportation Seminar
The Chinese Institute of Engineers in conjunction with Santa Clara University is hosting a Transportation Seminar to be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, from 7:00pm - 9:00 pm at Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, CA.
