Please join us in congratulating our newest Buildings Sector principals and associates! We are thrilled to announce the well-deserved promotions of these outstanding individuals, recognizing their dedication, expertise, and invaluable contributions to our continued growth and success.

Albert Mena, PE, SE, Principal – Albert currently leads the sector’s Chicago office, which he started in 2021, in addition to being Sector Manager for the Central region. Albert strives for collaboration among all team members and stakeholders through his management of new construction and existing building projects for a diverse group of clients, including educational, residential, civic, and cultural institutions.

Nathan Hicks, PE, SE, Principal – Nathan joined the firm in 2009 as the recipient of the Silman Fellowship for Preservation Engineering. He now heads up the sector's Los Angeles office. He works on a variety of projects with an emphasis on federal work and historic preservation. Projects he has been involved with include the Statue of Liberty, the US Capitol, Washington Union Station, the Lincoln Memorial, Michigan Central Station, and the Smithsonian Castle. He is Sector Manager for the Southwest region.

Amy Harrington, PE, SE, Associate – Amy joined the firm in 2013 and has worked on all types of buildings with an emphasis on adaptive reuse and new construction for both institutional and private clients. Her notable recently completed projects include Domino Sugar Refinery, Franklin & Marshall’s Winter Visual Arts Center, and Amherst College’s new student center. Amy has experience in residential and institutional mass timber work and leads the office's technical development for mass timber.

Maya Stuhlbarg, PE, SE, Associate – Since joining the firm in 2019, Maya has been involved in new construction and renovation projects with a variety of structural systems. Clients for ongoing and recently completed work include corporate offices, cultural institutions, and mixed-use developers. Maya is active in a number of professional associations and initiatives, including serving several years on the SEAoNY Board of Directors. She is also the co-founder and Director of the sector-wide Building Equity Initiative.

Mark Bayer, PE, Associate – Mark has been with the firm since 2014 and now works in the DC office. His experience with higher education projects includes academic facilities such as Barnard College’s Milstein Teaching and Learning Center and sports facilities such as Clarkson University’s Cheel Arena.
