BACTS Pedestrian and Bicycle Transportation Planning
TYLin was selected by Bangor Area Comprehensive Transportation System (BACTS) to provide strategic plans for pedestrian and bicycle transportation system improvements in Bangor, Maine.
The purpose of the project is to document and provide a shared vision for the development of a safe and functional active transportation network of pedestrian and bicycle facilities and amenities.
The plans to be developed by TYLin will guide policy for short-, medium-, and long-term pedestrian and bicycle system improvements in and around the BACTS area. Included are a facility inventory, a review of the most current data and policies for the region, guidance and recommendations on facility design and policy, and an implementation plan to guide policy and improvements.
The implementation plan will be incorporated, by reference, into the BACTS 2018-2038 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP). The MTP is required by federal regulation to be updated at least every five years.
