Gina Showers
Gina has devoted her career to delivering multimodal mobility solutions. Her professional pride comes from implementing safe complete streets and bicycle networks that meet the diverse needs of individual neighborhoods.
Committed to the belief that the best solutions are tailored to the end user, Gina places a strong emphasis on understanding the life and habits of the people who live, work, and play in the communities she serves. She recognizes that every neighborhood has different opportunities, challenges, and perceptions relative to biking. She takes the initiative to gather comprehensive insight before developing a plan. Gina has been instrumental in the conceptual planning, public outreach, engineering, permitting, and approvals to expand the bicycle network promptly and equitably in the City of Chicago.
In addition to her work bringing connected bikeways to Chicago neighborhoods, Gina is skilled in traffic signal design, intelligent transportation, and traffic capacity analyses. She has also served communities across the country by identifying their transportation needs and deficiencies and developing plans to improve their multimodal systems.
