T.Y. Lin International congratulates Paula Pienton, P.E., For Being Named A 2020 Notable Woman in Construction and Design

T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that Paula Pienton, P.E., S.E., TYLI Senior Vice President, has been named to Crain's Chicago Business' 2020 List of Notable Women in Construction & Design. Pienton is one of 49 local professional women being honored by Crain's for their career achievements in traditionally male-dominated sectors.

TYLI projects overseen by Pienton include her current role leading the consultant team for the Preliminary Engineering and Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Red Line Extension (RLE) project for the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). She has also managed teams for CTA's Red Purple Modernization Project, Ravenswood Loop Connector project, and Station Improvements for the Dan Ryan Red Line Track Renewal project, as well as Metra's New Rock Island District Commuter Rail Station at Auburn Park.

Pienton has also applied her engineering expertise to noteworthy national projects. These include serving as a Project Manager for the Preliminary Engineering/Supplemental Environmental Impact Report (EIR)/EIS for the California High-Speed Rail, Bakersfield F-Street Station Alignment project. She also acted as Assistant Project Manager for the All Aboard Florida, Intercity Passenger Services, Orlando to Miami, Florida project, where she supported the development of conceptual plans for a new rail line from Orlando to Cocoa, Florida.

Pienton maintains an active role in leading industry organizations, including Chicago's Metropolitan Planning Council (MPC), MPC Transportation Committee; the American Public Transportation Association (APTA); the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE); and Women's Transportation Seminar International (WTS).

A registered Professional Engineer in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan, Pienton received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She currently serves as Vice President for the University of Illinois' Board of Directors of the College of Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni Association.
