CTA Red Line Station Improvements
TYLin served as Designer of Record for improvements to eight Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Red Line transit stations along the Dan Ryan Expressway corridor in Chicago, Illinois.
The station improvements were part of CTA’s overarching Dan Ryan Track Renewal and Stations Improvement Project to improve user convenience and access.
Upgrades included new elevators added at three stations. Canopy repairs, platform surface repairs, and steel cleaning and/or painting were performed at all locations.
TYLin managed all subconsultant deliverables, developed and implemented a Quality Assurance Plan, investigated existing conditions, prepared final design documents, and produced the construction submittal schedule.
Project Highlights:
- Scope of work included field surveys, design, permitting, and procurement services to address functional, cosmetic, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance.
- TYLin provided design and mechanical and electrical engineering services for a wide range of architectural, structural, civil, and environmental elements.
- Lighting and drainage improvements, along with any specific areas of concern, were addressed at each station.
